You
probably didn’t know, we have been preparing for years to bring
you an all encompassing massage school! Thank
you for visiting our site. As you browse through our catalog we hope
you will find our school just right for you. How do you know it’s
the right one? Reflect on some of our highlights.
Our philosophy
about massage. The new term “medical massage” has recently
surfaced in the massage community. While many doctors recommend massage,
very few are willing to hire therapists in their office and most of
the focus of Western medicine is illness and disease cured by drugs.
The massage therapist is usually hired in a more positive environment
associated with the holistic health industry where the focus is wellness
through preventative health and stress reduction. Massage has
always been a healing art, meaning there is a wholeness and connection
to the person on the different levels of mind, body, and spirit.
Anatomy and Physiology is an integral part of massage study, however,
the most optimal massage is when a therapist can integrate this clinical
knowledge with a caring, nurturing connection to the client, working
from your heart with good intention.
Don’t
be misled with shorter time. Licensing is on the verge of happening
in Michigan. Look for a school that offers at least 500 contact hours
in classroom, so you can be assured you will be prepared for whatever
licensing requirements will be needed. We make sure you are prepared
for Michigan as well as the National Certification Exam if you opt to
take it. Our weekend format allows you to be alert and able to comprehend
much better than working all day and going to school at night. Our classes
are Fri 6-10, and from 10-5 every other weekend.
Our instructors
are extremely experienced, not just by their term in the massage field
but by the busy clientele they have. They will be able to mentor you.
Through their experience, they learned all the special applications
of massage that you can’t find written in a text book.
We
know the desire most people have when they enter this field, and the
challenges that lie ahead to build a full clientele. That is
why a strong business curriculum is absolutely required to be a massage
therapist, commonly working as an independent contractor. We prepare
you for this. We have already built the successful model, Center for
the Healing Arts. Charlotte Irwin is a successful entrepreneur and massage
therapist and she shares her 12 years of business and massage knowledge
with you.
Plus
an added bonus! You receive two certifications, one in massage
therapy and the other as a reflexologist. Most massage therapist leave
school and then take an added program in reflexology. You get both for
the cost of massage school.
We hope
you consider our school as the one for you.
You
have my personal guarantee, You will be the one they will hire!
